With moderate temperatures ranging from the 50s to the high 70s, summer is a pleasant time to visit, so naturally there's a tourist influx. But the crowds are thin and as long as you don't mind foggy mornings, mud and temperatures that range from the mid-20s to mid-50s, a springtime visit can be worthwhile. Most park facilities operate limited hours until mid-April, if they're open at all. Even though the snow has melted, the early spring is still considered the off-season.
